“I will be honored, if you will elect me to serve you as your Judge”, Osi says. “It will be an excellent
opportunity for me to use my skills, experience and legal training,
particularly my recognized EXCELLENCE in Constitutional Law and
work as a Commonwealth Prosecutor, to
continue my life of dedicated public service, to bring my
common-sense conservative and family-friendly Kentucky values to
decide, as you would want them to be decided, issues of great importance that we all cherish (and demand)
to make our Commonwealth of Kentucky great”,
Osi continued.
As a person who “has been on the other side of the world”, so to
speak, who witnessed first hand rampant injustices, corruption
in government, government oppression of its citizens and denial
of the most basic human rights and the citizens' inalienable personal liberties, Osi is uniquely
suited to protect our personal liberties and check government
abuses of the peoples’ rights guaranteed them by their
creator.
“I GREATLY appreciate your vote and support on November 7th, 2006, to
work for you”,
Osi says.
Osi’s journey began nearly 44 years ago in
Africa
when he was born. Osi Onyekwuluje, (easily pronounced: (Oh-see)
(On-yea-kool-oo-jay)), is the second son and sixth child of
devout Christian parents, who instilled in him the virtues of
charity, hard work, personal responsibility, love for one
another and that “to whom much is given, much is expected”.
Osi’s father is a Barrister – a Lawyer trained in England – and
the Registrar of the Anglican (Episcopal Church) diocese, where
he has the responsibility of appointing the clergy (including
the Bishop) and staff. Osi’s mother, who passed away ten years
ago, Lord bless her soul, was a fashion designer who owned her
own clothing line.
As a young boy going through elementary and high school,
Osi read a lot about
United States of America.
He read that America was founded on the most virtuous of human
principles: that ALL of us were created EQUAL and endowed by
our creator with certain rights that are inalienable, such as
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
He also read that in America, unlike in the other countries of
the world, including the one in which he was born, that the
government (divided into three equal branches) derived its
enumerated powers from “the consent of the governed”, the
rights of the people emanated not from their government but from
their creator, and that America guaranteed (and
protected) these array of personal liberties.
The more Osi read, the more intrigued and interested in
America and its
unique constitution he became.
Osi yearned to be an American, and these yearnings
led him to leave his parent’s home for the first time and
journey ALONE to America, over 26 years ago when he was just a
TEENAGER.
His love of the
U. S.
constitution led Osi to Law School to study law so he “can master that
‘sacred’ document”, as he calls our constitution.
There his efforts were rewarded and his love and mastery of the
constitution won him a prestigious award (the Delacy Award) for Excellence
in Constitutional Law.
His constitutional law excellence and
scholarship continues even today, as he practices law in
Bowling Green.
Osi is very grateful to
America
for making him a proud American and Kentuckian by choice,
and for the vast opportunities
America provided him to succeed.
Osi feels he owes
America
and Kentucky great debts. He wants to repay these debts. The
best way he knows how to do so is by being a law
abiding citizen and by “giving back” and helping
“form a more perfect union” of America where justice is
established, liberty’s blessings are secured to ourselves and
our offspring, as envisioned by our Founding Fathers.
Hence, Osi completely dedicated his life to public service. For
the past 26 years since Osi has been in America, Osi has served you well as a Prosecutor,
Attorney for the State Transportation Cabinet and Assistant
Attorney General.
Serving as your Judge will fulfill Osi’s
lifelong dream and also be a natural progression of his life of
dedicated public service.
In his spare time, Osi loves to read, spend time with family and
friends, volunteer for various noble causes, including Bar
(legal) leadership, Advisory Councils for Western Kentucky
University, 4H, where he also judges mock trial competitions
and 4-H contests and Warren County Extension Board, mentoring to kids, and coaching and
refereeing little league football and basketball, Fraternal
Order of Police (FOP) and National Rifle Association (NRA). To find out
what else Osi is involved in, see resume. |
